Terms of Service

Template for review — have these terms checked by a solicitor before launch. They are a sensible starting point, not legal advice.

1. About Quick-Shift

Quick-Shift is an online marketplace that connects businesses needing temporary staff cover (“Employers”) with people looking for flexible shifts (“Workers”). Quick-Shift provides the platform only; it is not an employment agency and is not a party to any engagement agreed between an Employer and a Worker.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Employers must be a registered business or acting on behalf of one. You must be at least 18 to work through Quick-Shift.

3. Shifts & engagements

Employers are responsible for the accuracy of shift listings, for meeting their legal obligations to Workers (including at least the National Minimum/Living Wage, a safe workplace and any applicable rights) and for paying Workers directly at the advertised rate. Open shifts are advertised publicly on Quick-Shift and may be shared with job search engines such as Google, showing the business name, shift details, pay, town and postcode district but not the street address. Workers are responsible for turning up as agreed and performing the work to a reasonable standard.

4. Fees

Registration is free. Workers are never charged. Employers pay a platform fee only when a shift is successfully filled or a monthly subscription where applicable, as described on our Pricing page. Fees are shown before you post a shift. Employers save a payment card (held securely by our payment provider, Stripe) before posting their first shift; the platform fee is charged to that card once a shift is completed, unless covered by an included subscription placement. Shifts complete automatically 24 hours after they end unless the Employer marks them complete sooner or reports that the Worker did not attend. New Employers may be offered an introductory free period, shown in their account, during which no platform fee is charged for shifts starting within it. A Worker may dispute a no-show report and Quick-Shift's decision on a dispute is final.

5. Cancellations & refunds

Quick-Shift Plus is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your Billing page. Your plan, including any unused placements, stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and is then not renewed. We don't give partial refunds for unused time or placements.

Placement fees are only charged for shifts that are completed. If a Worker doesn't attend, report it from the shift page and no fee is charged. If you cancel a shift before it starts, no fee is charged. If you believe a fee was charged in error, email admin@quick-shift.co.uk within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it in full where the shift did not go ahead as agreed. Refunds are returned to the original card, usually within 5–10 working days.

Workers never pay Quick-Shift, so no refunds apply to them. Wages are agreed and paid directly between the Employer and the Worker.

6. Conduct

You agree not to misuse the platform, post false information, harass other users or attempt to take engagements off-platform to avoid fees. We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms.

7. Liability

Quick-Shift is not liable for the conduct of Employers or Workers, the quality of work, non-payment or any loss arising from an engagement. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
